THE SCIENCE AND ART OF REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a gentle, therapeutic complementary treatment that is used to improve general health and well-being. It promotes the body’s natural ability to heal itself by improving circulation, reducing stress and pain and restoring the body to its natural healthy balanced state.

Reflexology is based on the principle that there are various pressure points in the hands, ears and feet, known as reflexes which correspond to all of the organs and body systems. When the body is in full health, energy flows freely between the reflexes and corresponding parts of the body, but when the body is out of sync this energy becomes stagnant and blocked. Reflexology works to gently stiumulate the affected area and release the blockage thus promoting the body’s ability to function at an optimal level.

Reflexology has been practiced for over 5000 years, it originated in the Orient and has been used by Buddhist Monks in China since 2700BC, reaching Japan around 700AD. Reflexology remains popular in modern times as non-invasive, drug-free, safe and effective treatment. More and more clinical evidence is emerging all the time to prove the efficacy of regular reflexology treatments in the alleviation of the effects of illness and injury, the easing of stress and tension and the promotion of feellings of calm and relaxation.

Some of the well-recognised benefits of reflexology include;

  • Elimination of toxins from the body
  • Improved circulation of blood and oxygen throughout the body.
  • Increased feelings of well-being
  • Improved energy levels.
  • Promotes release of feel-good hormones and neurotransmitters into the body.
  • Pain reduction and relief.

FEEL THE DIFFERENCE

Kenkoh has a unique massaging nodule technology that stimulates the feet from toes to heels. This creates an even blood supply in the entire foot, whereas regular sandals just cause the blood to remain in one area.

You can feel the difference in your feet and body as soon as you start wearing them.

Clinical tests in Japan have shown that wearing Kenkoh boosts circulation and energy and reduces swelling and foot pain.

Kenkoh’s features include:

  1. 100% natural rubber nodules in each pair to replicate a reflexology treatment
  2. A shock absorbing cushioning system to relieve pressure from back and joints
  3. An orthotic arch to support a good posture.

HOW TO WEAR KENKOH MASSAGE SHOES

The deep massaging action starts the minute you pull on your first pair of Kenkoh shoes. If you aren’t used to reflexology, you may find that your feet feel a little sensitive at first. This is a normal reaction and you’ll quickly adjust. You may find that you want to start slowly, and wear your reflexology sandals for just 10 – 30 minutes at a time. Simply wear for as long as you feel comfortable with until you get used to the sensation.

Wearing Kenkoh shoes is similar to receiving reflexology treatments, which means you may initially feel some discomfort where there is congestion or an imbalance in your reflexes when they are first worked by a therapist. Each person is different, so it is important to extend the wear time at your own pace. It usually takes anywhere from three days to three weeks to become used to wearing Kenkohs. After a few weeks, you’ll want to wear Kenkoh all day, every day!
